We all start somewhere... right?

Tank looks great. I admire your tenacity running through this gauntlet...lol
Keep up the good work and always remember ..research ,research, research.

Just read through this whole thread and will agree with the last several posts, that being, WOW this tread has come a long way and it seems you have as well LeadFootRacer. It takes a lot of not only work but patience to get through setting up a tank and doing it properly and dealing with all the ugly (algea etc.) that can come with this hobby. Kudos for turning a corner in your path and have seem to set yourself up for success. I will bet though that now that you seem to have taken a liking to your clown and are starting to (potentially) look at this hobby a little differently you will reconsider your stock list or your plans for how you will stock, maybe not, but I think you will start to become more vested in this and may no longer consider the time spent to get your tank where you like worth tearing it down every so ofter to get fish out. Who knows maybe that will be your goal or challenge, time will tell.

Anyway, good on ya for listening to the folks on here, setting up a QT, revising your timelines and generally seem to be heading in the right direction all while working 13 hour days (if I read correctly). Hopefully that dedication pays off and can be focused to make for a great tank. Looking forward to see how your tank progresses.

PS, I like the new aquascape!

Thanks everyone. I'm ready to move on to the next step. Going to be picking up some chaeto and some more live rock this weekend.

I'm glad I can finally see through the water. It's amazing what the sterilizer and reactor did for the setup.

Just another update...

Tank is doing great. Swapped out the sand for tropic eden reef flakes and came up with a new scape.

Also swapped to ATI bulbs, and added another powerhead.

Added a few corals and some more livestock. (Some in QT right now)

Things are going well.

Congrats on a nice tank.
Your story is one a lot of newcomers should read.
Many will start too fast and come to RC for advice. Then they blatantly disregard the voice of experience and eventually fail. Or else they get flamed so badly, they leave and we have no idea what became of them or their tanks.
You stuck it out and learned some good lessons on your road to a successful tank.
I wish you many more years of happy reefing!
