We love our new clown.

We have had him a week and he is so much fun. Before that we just had a yellow bellied damsel.

Getting the new fish has made us appreciate the personalities of both fish even more. Our damsel is like a little alien space ship. He zaps around the tank like a little lightning bolt and then hovers in one spot totally motionless. He also loves to dance in his favorite corner of the tank and zip around through the holes in the rock work.

The Clown is a gold stripe maroon and he is much more relaxed and not so high strung. When I take the lid off the tank he comes out and attacks the surface of the water.Today he bit me while I was moving some frags that the hermits had knocked down. With the damsel when im in the tank he is totally out of sight. We think he is beautiful and already really enjoy having him.

He eats PE mysis like a champ.

Clownfish are fun. I have a pair of CB black ocellaris who provide me with hours of entertainment.

As you've already found out, maroons are feisty little bastiges, but have a lot of personality. Enjoy her (the clown will eventually turn into a female if he doesn't acquire a mate, but maroons are notoriously hard to pair off)! :)

is the bigger one the female? ive had mine for over a year, and one is a little bit bigger thent he other. I kinda figured that had what happend.

Yup. The bigger, more dominant fish is the female. It can be a dramatic difference in size, especially in maroon clowns (I've also seen several pairs of perculas where the male was tiny in comparison to his mate), or it can be pretty subtle, especially if they're still maturing (my ocellaris are just reaching the point where the developing female is beginning to outgrow her mate).
