Sorry, I know this doesn't have anything to do about fish.

Anyway, I'm traveling to Pueblo tomorrow and will stay down until Saturday to look for an apartment. I see that it looks like you guys might be getting more snow tommorrow. :eek1:

Do you know what the local forcast expects the amount to be? Also, should I avoid going through Denver and take a different route to Pueblo? (the other route would take a little longer, but I'd avoid any traffic problems in Denver).

Thanks for any help.

Weather Channel still isn't giving any real expectations for snow fall yet.
"Keep watching the Weather Channel for up to date forcasts". Fat lot of good that does for planing.

If you don't have 4WD or AWD I'd recommend you post pone the trip... :(

Local forecast:

"We figure you'll get through Thursday morning's commute without any problems, and if the wind stays manageable the evening commute will be passable, but probably not very fun. Expect considerable blowing and drifting of any snow that falls with this storm late Thursday, Friday and possibly Saturday."

Thanks for the replies.
I don't have any 4WD or AWD. Unfortunately, I start work there soon and I don't think I can postpone my trip.

I'm thinking I'll leave a few hours sooner and plan for the trip to take extra long; it's normally about an 8 hour drive. I'll also try to avoid going through northern Colorado.

You guys going to share any of your snow with the rest of the country?? It hasn't snowed yet in eastern Nebraska, and today was in the 50's! I think that's a record.

It was 65 here in Pueblo today. If you leave early enough you may miss most of it. Usually after it is done snowing the roads melt fairly fast, at least down here.

Ah, ok.
I was planning on leaving after lunch tomorrow, but I'll leave first thing in the morning. I'm not really worried about the drive; I'm more worried that I will get all the way out there, and the apartment complexes would be closed on Friday due to snow.

Hey Darknes, I'm off this week so let me know if you need any help getting around and finding the apt complexes while your here. It usually doesn't snow bad in Pueblo itself, but all around us gets hammered.

you know its so warm in miami you'd never guess its cold somewhere ;)
looks like I may me stranded here an extra day or 2 what a joke :)

They're saying thr plains will be hit the worst today with a foot of snow and high winds. They're also thinking this could last well into Sunday.

The forecast changes hourly here, not to mention changing from TV network to network, which is why you can't trust any forecast. They're usually only as accurate as their current observations.

One thing you can believe today is that all roads from NE to CO will be really bad. You'll be travelling directly through the blizzard area--snow and high winds. Unless you're behind a snow plow, you're taking a big risk on the roads today and tomorrow.

As far as starting work, I don't think any employer would blame you for showing up a day late due to a blizzard. Why not call them and let them know?

Chris...shut the hell up. ;)

Take all the observations, add them together, divide by the number of observations and that gives you a POSSIBLE idea of what you might get

we got home last night, barely. Hodgen wasnt plowed and I tried it, made it for a half mile of so, got stuck in 2 or 3 feet of snow, finally got out and made it home only to have 3 foot+ drifts blocking the drive and doors. And I still had my shorts and sandles on from miami. we left miami at 5 o'clock it was 80 degrees and sunny, it amazes me how different the weather can be a few states away.
