Webcam Suggestions

I currently have a Trendnet IP camera used to view my tank while away. I would like to upgrade to a wireless HD webcam. Any suggestions? I've noticed with some webcams, light flickering is a problem.

I use UBNT solutions professionally and personally. Currently monitoring my monitor lizard enclosure and setting up a surveillance of a new reef tank. Best used with either their DVR server or if you have knowledge you can run your own on Ubuntu Linux pretty easy.

I use Dome and Micro. Micro is a piece of art, very impressive.

I just asked the same question and went with the arlo system.

Reason being that it's expandable, simple, and I can add cameras and view more than just the tank with it.

The cameras are only 720p, but they are weatherproof and indoor/outdoor as well as programmable for recording. So you can set them to text you when they sense motion and start recording. You can also run a scheduler that will turn the motion recording on and off at certain times of the day or on certain spans of time. (I.e when everyone goes to bed, or going on vacation.). You also get 2g of cloud storage free that everything records to, so if someone decides to take the camera or breaks into the house, there's no actual file or hard drive to take. Once someone's on camera, they owned.

So far I have 2. One is on the tank, and one is on the front door. I plan on getting one for the garage and one for the back door.

Plus it's expandable. So if you get the single camera unit for 180 and want to add cameras, you can buy them seperate and just sync them to the base station.

Pretty neat stuff.

How did you mount it to your tank? How does it do under various tank lights?
I use a q-see cctv system for home security, but want something smaller for my tank.
