I apologize for the double post but I wanted to get some opinions from those with experience with large tanks. Although by comparison to some of your tanks, this is a mere fish bowl, I am concerned with tank weight.
I will be installing a 150g reef (18"x72") on the 1st floor of my new house. The tank will be parallel to the floor joists centered on a steel I-beam. The beam itself is set in an 8" poured concrete wall. I am planning on putting cross supports between the joists to transfer some of the load (~2100lb). The joists are 2x10" (16"o.c.)
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
