Ok,

My wife and I went to the LFS to get a pair of clowns. She picked out one Orange one and one that looks Yellow to me. The guy at the LFS said the yellow one would turn orange with age. Does this sound right? If not will these two mate? The yellow one is the smaller one btw. At least I think it looks yellow, wife says its yellowish-orange.

Thanks

Lonnie

look like two Ocellaris clowns to me, yup they can mate and will most likely make a nice piar with the larger being the female. The color maybe darken up a bot over time , they lose some color from stress. It can also just be they have different skin tones, just like people. either way congratz on the little wigglers~

when they were being raised the people did no use iodine. as long as your water has the right elements in it they will color up just like corals

yeap..I agree with the 2 posts above mine.. feed them right, give them excellent water and they'll color up.

lolwut? Fish and corals get their coloration from different biological processes...Iodine dosing is irrelevant and unnecessary. With a good varied diet, the little guy will be a vibrant orange in no time.
