Hey Guys,
I'm not sure what is exactly going on here. So I have a powder blue tang (2" - 3"), a pair of gold striped maroon clowns, two chromis, and a flame angel. I didn't do exactly a great job of QT my PBT. Well then he got ich. So I was determined that I was going to beat this. I pulled all of my fish and put them in a 20g hospital tank. I was afraid at first to do this since it was such a small space and the higher fish load. I also have some live rock in my hospital tank (i.e. dead SPS lost from tank crash). They've been in hypo at 10ppm for about 4 weeks. Then I noticed that the chromis weren't doing all that great. Their sides looked weird and had some white stuff that kind of looks like ich. I've been trying to keep the water parameters good by doing water changes. Ammonia and Nitrites (I think) were at 0. The Nitrates were pretty high. I didn't really notice anything on the other fish other than that some of their fins were torn a little bit (except for the PBT). The clowns had some little pin holes in the middle of their fins. I figured that either they were fighting or getting torn up on the dead corals. So a few days ago I moved them in to my 55g tank. The water parameters were the same. So I figured it would be OK, but I didn't think that my one Chromis would make it because he wasn't doing so well. Well he ended up dying. Now I noticed more of this white stuff that kind of looks like ich, but I really don't believe it is on my other fish (except for the PBT). I don't think these are flukes, although I could be wrong. The fish have almost been in hypo at 10ppm for 5 weeks now. What could this stuff be? Should I start to slowly take them out of hypo? I was really trying to go 6 to 8 weeks to make sure that the ich is gone. Like I said, I don't think this is ich, but I could be wrong.
