Weird Noise !?!?

Hi

I Have a Tunze Stream 6100

This morning I heard a very strange beeping noise.. Sort of a squealing noise.. It is sort of hard to explain.. Like a smoke alarm except it was a constant noise not intermittent beeping.

Well.. After about 5 minutes of trying to figure out what was making this noise I realized it was coming from the transformer of the pump.

I hit the Feed button, slowed down the speed of the pump and the noise went away.. I waited about an hour and didn't hear the noise any more.

Any idea what this could have been?

Typically when you hear that noise it's a warning that the pump is either jammed or dirty. Here's the thread where Roger addresses it:

Thanks for the link!! I was hoping I wasnt crazy!!

I guess I should have unplugged it! Hopefully it will be ok till I get home

I figured after an hour of running and not hearing the alarm, it was ok... Hopefully I figured right.

Just for an update.. I ran home, luckily I live close to work.

The pump wasn't switching between speeds.. just stuck on one speed. It was working.. I unplugged it...plugged it back in and it started switching again..

I unplugged it and will clean it when I get home.
