Weird Thing On Candy Cane

I picked up this Candy Cane about 2 months ago. It has slowly grown these white tubular things that move in the flow. I have no idea what they are and would like to figure it out. It has been doing well.

They're just harmless sponges. No worries. They should break loose real easy if you want to get rid of them.
