Weird thing on my snail

Hi I found something stange on my snail.. it looks like the body of a tube worm but has something soft looking sticking out of the end also it leaves a sort of cobweb trail from the snail...see photo any help welcome thanks.

Hi thanks for reply been on google and other forums says they are pests and to remove them what would you say would be the best way since it is on the snail? Thanks

I think they're considered pests because when they're on rocks near corals, they can drape nets of mucous over corals and irritate them. They're not really harmful in any serious way. That one's probably fine where it is and I would leave it. It's pretty cool! Of course, if you're worried about it spreading, you could probably just break it off with your fingernail.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it unless you just don't like the looks of it. You can remove it with a sharp pocket knife if it bugs you.

it's not harmful and it should be fine

plus you have a snail hitching a ride on a snail-pretty cool

Yeah I know lol suppose its not harming anything so ill just leave it.. unlike the hydroid colonies I have which im tryimg to get rid of lol..
