Welcoming Myself Back

Hello all, so I roamed around here for about a year when I set my first tank up. Then In January I had to move away from my tank for 8 months and it killed me. Luckily my care taker was good enough to keep using the RODI unit and pretty much everything survived(firefish is gone but the covers were off the tank so....) however the tank looks pretty nasty from not being cleaned much at all. Also at some point the skimmer pump died and I was not around to set a new one up. I have gotten things cleaned up pretty well and a new skimmer in place(it was a good excuse to upgrade.) Also the T5 bulbs need replaced badly so I just decided to upgrade to two more LED fixtures to match the other one. This weekend I plan to blow out all of the rock work and do a really big water change. I then plan to rescape the tank for a couple of reasons. The first is that I am tired of the scape, the plan was to have three islands for softies, lps, and sps. The second reason is that I want to add more to the tank.

The tank is a 125 and ever since I set it up it has just been too empty. I planned to start adding more stock last year but after I learned I would be gone for so long I decided to hold off. Current stock is a Powder Blue Tang(5-6") sixline, piair of mocha clowns, engineer goby, neon goby, mix of softies, lps, and a few montis. Not much of a cuc just a couple mexican turbo snails. So the tank is VERY empty!

The solution was to get on LiveAquaria! Now fish wise I will not be getting many more to keep my system as easy and clean as possible. Looking at a flame angel, canary blenny, and maybe a small group of stop light cardinals. Now inverts and corals I am going to pick up a bunch of stuff. I am going to finally take the plunge and get a BTA my beautiful beloved clowns. I feel that the movement and the relationship(hopefully) will be a fantastic addition to the tank. The system is two years old(but has moved tanks) so I think it is plenty mature to keep harder inverts. I am also going to get a derasa clam, if that goes well I will probably try a gold maxima and look at a calc reactor. I am also going to get a mated pair of coral banded shrimp. In my experience seeing a pair of inhabitants adds a lot to looking at the tank.

Do you guys see any problems with not having sand for any of these guys?

I am also picking up a crap ton of frags from a local reefer.

The plan is to get all of my new additions into QT while I revamp the tank.
I am going to clean and rescape all of the rock and attempt to detach any attached coral. I will do a few large water changes to bring alk and mag levels back up. all coral will be placed on the floor of the tank and I will introduce the BTA. Once the BTA finds a home and stays for a few weeks I will begin to put the coral into position. I will try to place the clam in the center of the tank and leave plenty of open room for it. I will then start adding the fish groups one every two weeks, saving the flame for last. hopefully in a couple of months I will have a nice, clean, lively tank.

If you guys are more interested in my tank specs they should be in an older post. also sorry for the really long "hello again" just wanted to share my thoughts and ideas.
