well got everything in the tank!!

well all my stuff is in my tank thats the good news.......but the bad news is that nothing is coming out...i understand that i was sticking my hand and whatnot into my tank and moving stuff around but the a couple of pieces that i had in there way before the stuff i just put in didnt open today.....i hope nothing is wrong.....

also i tested my water today i have 20 trates ph is 8 alk is 8.8 rites are .25 and ammonia was also .25

i dont know why they went up a lil but before i put my corals in the rites were zero trates were 10 ammonia was zero and ph was 8.....and with alk this was the first time i tested it since i got my tank..


my leather is coming out though!!!!!!!

im stumpted to as to why you have any traceable levels of ammonia and NO2. Do a retest and see if anything changes. Make sure your tubes are washed out with not only tap water first but then rinse them in tank waterl You might be getting readings from old tests.

PH seems low too, should be near 8.4ish

Hopefully things will open up as the tank settles down. With all the moving around and stuff, you can upset it a little. And a small tank like that will see changes really fast. If you stirred up anything on the rocks and got it in the water column it will be easier to detect with test kits. Maybe tomorrow.

Perfectly understandable to have some ammonia in a 6 gallon tank, adding new corals that we're just shipped overnight. They start to go bad in the bag and then some of that transfers to the tank, it should go away quick though. You'd only see that in a really small tank like yours though, a bigger system would never see any traceable amount most likely.

Ph is a tad low, but mine is only between 8-8.2 max depends on the test kit used or the calibration of the meter.

I think you can control it with water changes.

I would not try to buffer it, you can change it too much too fast with only 6 gal. I'd test the new saltwater you make and see what ph that is. If its low then maybe adda little bit of buffer but go slow. the acceptable range is 8-8.4 so its not like you are heading for disaster but you do need to make sure it doesn't drop further.
