My brain opened its mouths and expelled what looks like red slime algae, it was immediately sucked intyo my filterm but not sure if this is normal or not as I have never seen it do this before.

i have had my wellsophylia (3 of them) for over a year and have seen it happen plenty of times, i believe its just expelling excess zooanthelle

get it to stick? lost me... I think they'd do fine with just light, depending on your lighting, I used to keep one on the sandbed that did quite well

The food wont stick to the tenticles or whatever they are called. Also he is swelling to what looks like impossible proportions, otherwise looks fantastic but sort of freaky how big it gets.

sometimes they get huge like that, as for feedings, I think I may have inadvertently fed mine 3 or 4 times in the year and a half that I had it, so it's really not necessary in my opinion

what is your lighting?

it used to be wellso!some do still use older names all of my wolesale lists still say wellsophylia not trachyphilia radiata.

I like to tell people that there is no such thing because some vendors use the Wellso title as an excuse to charge more for a Trach. Nothing wrong with a little knowledge.

Thanks for letting us know but I think you could of been a little more tactful about it, as we are not all master reefers as you seem to be and when I go to my well respected lfs and ask questions on this site to research a coral that I would purchase I am doing my best to know and care for my coral. Again thank you but maybe explaining why next time would help and it will not come across as if you were putting me or anyone else down, I dont tell people when they come over and look at the tankl that a nemo fish doesnt exist and then leave it at that, I nicely explain that it is a percula clown and then they stop calling it Nemo and we all feel better.
