Welso help

In Memoriam
I have a welso open brain that I've been having trouble with for the last few months. It does not puff up at all, nor does it make any attempt at feeding, no matter what I try.

I dipped it a few weeks ago in Tropic Marin's Coral Cure and found that a crab had bored a hole into the coral, and I manually removed the parasite. After that, it puffed up a little bit, but now it's flesh is so contracted that I can see it's white skeleton underneath. Please note that it's entire skeleton is still covered with flesh, and none of the flesh is bleached.

Yesterday, I tried what I call a "slurry hat" feeding that I've never used on the welso before. I put the top of 2 liter bottle over the coral and fill that with a food slurry. What happened was interesting. The coral extpelled its gut onto the food and digested it outside its body. I haven't seen the feeding tentacles in a couple of months, so I think it may have digested them.

Sorry for the long post, here are my questions:

Anything I could do differently to help the coral?
Do welsos give off anything noxious when they die?
Does anyone know if the feeding tentacles will come back?
