I had a great time and did well with my frags (I think I covered all expenses including new purchases plus $10
). I racked up on more from Kermit's than at the swap (and got a lot of nice things at the swap). I drove home looking over my shoulder expecting to be arrested for stealing corals from Dave
.
It's always nice to put faces with names. Getting to see faces I know is always nice, too. We were right next to Randy Reed with Reed Mariculture, so we felt completely at home. Met a lot of nice people from the Razorback Reef, too (other side of us). I don't get much of a chance to talk reef geek down here (not like Nashville), so I never stop talking... Imagine that.
I had a great time, but Murphy rode along for the ride (damn you Rick
). It looks like I lost/am losing every acan/micro I took and didn't sell. The heater got a little crazy in that tank Saturday night... I moved them to the other tank as soon as I found them, but no such luck. None show more than 10% tissue (deeply embedded in the skeleton). They are resilliant, though, so I'll tuck them in a corner for a few weeks and see what they look do. Then, after driving home yesterday and getting everything dipped, etc. I finally get the last of my awesome haul in the tank. Sat at work all day thinking about getting to see it all under lights when I got home. I got some really nice pieces from Dave, Harry, and Make Fish Smile. RTN has hit that tank. Not sure what happened. It has good water in it, has been running for months (has had a decent number of clams in it for a couple months and got a water change yesterday from the display). I don't give up hope, so we'll see what comes out of them (I know RTN isn't friendly, though). Some look okay, but most, not. That brought me down when I got home... Oh well.
Oh. And my freakin Rebels beat Florida, so that keeps me from sinking too far. Jenn went and got a radio so we could listen to the game. If we had played a little better for an extra 6 minutes in two of our games, we'd be 5-0 right now (last 4 minutes in Wake Forest and last 2 minutes with Vandy).

Forgot to mention I got Griessinger's goby after the swap, too. This has got to be the coolest fish I've ever knowned. I haven't seen it since I dropped it's new home in the tank, but Jenn says she has. It is in a Lee's Specimen container with egg crate over the top (it can gt out, but nothing can get in). Maybe an 1"... This guy is really cool. I'm goig to have to lift the container out to catch a look at it (been fighting the urge).
