What´s the best zoanthid food?

as far as loosing much to the skimmer and much not sinking, I myself shut off my flow, target feed, allow 30-45 minutes for everything to feed and turn everything back on. Never had a problem yet and pretty much all my protos and palys close up over the foods and I know the zoanthus are getting their share as they grow fast.
No, you can't just dump a blend into your tank and leave it at that. You will loose a lot to you sump/skimmer/reactors. You should have a prefilter before all this anyway that should be changed out often.

I know all that. Thanks.

Grandis.

I broadcast feed cyclopeez, Reef Nutrition oyster eggs, and Phytofeast. I sometimes mix all those up and add some mysis and spot feed Palys and also allow it to mix once the pumps kick back on

Hey SpeedRacer:
Thanks for your post!
How do you offer the Cyclo-eez?
Also, are they the dry or the frozen ones?I have tried the dry form before and I had bugs on them after a while after opened. I think I´ll try to find the frozen ones next time.

I want to find a good place to by the Reef Nutrition products online because there is nobody around here selling them. Where is the best place?

Thanks,
Grandis.

Excess of nutrients in the system.
Please don´t write agressive.
I didn´t mean to make you upset.
If I did, I´m sorry.
This is just a hobby. Relax.

Grandis.
I am relaxed. I just don't think it is very responsible to classify frozen foods as 'junk food'. There are impressionable newbies getting into the hobby daily and to start off by seeing a post stating that frozen foods are junk does no good for the hobby. With proper setup and feeding regimen frozen food feedings to fish/corals provides superb nutrition.
Any food can cause excess nutrients into a system if not properly used.

Dear zoadude:

When somebody write like this:
"junk food"

means:
So called junk food.

Read again my post and please understand.
I´m sure the newbies can see that.

I thank you for your contribution to the thread.

OK. Sorry to have misread. This is what I read.
'I am looking for some real good "clean" nutritious foods that we can feed the zoas. I would say that about 60% or more of the frozen brine shrimp packs are junk stuff. Sorry, but that´s what it is...

I believe that direct feed is the way to go, instead to absorb from water. Just my personal tought.'

Only palythoas and protopalythoas can be direct fed. Zoathus do not accept direct feedings but rely on filter feedings, so to only provide foods that are direct feed would not provide for zoanthus zoanthids of which probably make up for 60% if not more of a zoanthid keepers livestock.

Hey zoadude:

My zoas accept Coralife invert food. They turn their polyps like cups to "hold" the liquid food when I direct feed them. They´re not palythoas, but zoanthids (PEs). They also eat frozen mysis often. You can see the "big" shrimp out of their mouths. I also feed them small frozen plancton food (San Francisco Bay Brand: Frozen Reef Plancton) and they turn their external projections to catch the small planctons on the side of the polyp to bring to their mouth.

The small zoas too... close their polyps when the liquid touches them. They open a while after pumps turned on. The small ones like also the small frozen plancton food (San Francisco Bay Brand: Frozen Reef Plancton).
The palythoas do that too.

Humm...

I want something else to offer, like that...

The Reef Nutrition Brand is probably one that will do the job, but I believe there is more out there... Let´s see what people say...

We need some more serious feeders around!

Thanks,
Grandis.
