What’s going on here?

Just got home and my clam
which I’ve had for 6 years is blasting what I thought may have been love juice but I’m not sure tank is cloudy as hell clam is somewhat recessed, fish seem to be “eating it” any ideas ? Thanks

I'm sure it is spawning. It's usually nothing to worry about- your skimmer, fish and clean-up crew will be busy for awhile. There may be a chance it's stress-induced if you've had any major changes in the tank, and I'm curious if it has been withdrawn for very long. Awesome clam- is that a Squamosa?

Thanks for the reply yes it’s a Squamosa.. my skimmer is going crazy, sump looks like a bubble bath.. coral polyps are all out I’m just nervous it’s too much.. in the 6+ years I’ve had it I think this happened once before but not this much.

dont think it’s stressed nothing odd going on in the tank (I think) checked parameters all seem fine. I have a pair of clowns that host it but that’s been going on for many years

Definitely spawning. Many years ago when we moved to a new house, I transferred all my livestock into a 300 gallon stock tank in anticipation of a tank upgrade. Several months after the move, I went to check on the stock tank and the water looked like milk from my 6 Tridacna spawning all at once. Like you're experiencing, my skimmer went nuts for about a week despite large water changes.
