what a day part 2........

Slave to the reef!
Well we started at 10 am this morning and worked all most non stop till 10:30 tonight. The tank is almost done, just need to hook up the CA reactor and hook stuff back up to the AC II. Here are some pics of all of our hard work, i had to pay Monty pretty good but i did get about 24 hours of solid work out of him, enjoy that RO unit man.

Anyway, here are some pics of our hard work, i was really suprised at how many frags i actually have, i can't beleive i had all of this in a 75 gallon!!! The tank is lit by 2 400 watt ushio bulbs with home made reflectors. I am going to be adding another MH probably a 250 in the middle and am getting some lumenarc reflectors.

Check it out!

Theres a Sebae anenome in the sour cream container, i am trying to get it to attatch to some rubble so it doesn't become powerhead sauce.

Heres the new "fishroom"

My back is killing me but it was well worth it.

Wow J! The tank looks good man. So you decided to go BB on this one eh? That's cool. Keep us updated on the progress! :)

Man Jeremy we did one heck of a nice job on that tank.:D It will look even better when you get those new tangs in there. After all said and done I think a R/O was well worth two day's of work. Thanks again for the R/O.

Yup i was running a bb on my 75 too. I like the looks of sand but the starboard looks pretty nice and you don't have that whole "ticking time bomb" thing goin' on. I am super proud of this tank, i really like the way it turned out, don;t get me wrong though, it still needs some minor adjustments, for instance i have to tear the canopy down and re-hang it because i need to shim it, i also need to finish the stand, right now its just 2x4's. Mostly cosmetic stuff. There are a few things is wish i could have done diferntley though, the biggest one was the overflow, i already had a flood because my aqua lifter was being lame, i really wish i would have drilled the tank so thats not a factor but once i get the bugs worked out i think it will be ok.

I am really excited about getting the lumenarc reflectors as well as the addition of the 3rd MH so there isnt such a shadow in the middle, i got my old light sold so all i have to do is order them.

I was going to add VHO's but i really like the color of the Ushios so i dont think i will even bother, so now i can spend the extra money on another MH setup instead.

Monty i couldn't have done it without ya that is for sure, thanks again for the help! Now you dont have to pester me asking for RO water all the time, although the money was good.

;)

Those braces suck! I went through the same thing with my 210. I didn't really want to add a 3rd MH but had to because it bugged me too much. Oh well, your tank will look nice. Just be prepared to battle the heat becuase there's a ton of it. If you do it right, you can still get by w/o a chiller.

I am thinking about maybe just doing a 250 in the middle. To battle the heat i had an idea but im not sure if its good or not. I have a hole in the top of my canopy, i could mount a small squirrel cage in it and blow the hot air into my attic where it will vent out my roof vents but im afraid the moisture might be too much and cause a mold or rot issue. I guess another thing i have going for me is that it stays pretty cool downstairs year round, hopefully that will help with the heat some...who knows.

Wow Jeremy, looks good. There seems to be some familiar corals in there?? Hmm, wonder where they came from ...

i think you should fill the sump up, increase the total volume of your system

I'm working on it....i can only make so much rodi water at a time, i really wasn't prepared. Actually all i was going to do this weekend was paint the back of the tank and get it cleaned up but monty said, "let's get this ***** tonight" so we tried and 24 hours later it was goin'.

Looks real nice! Like the BB. I'd say add a third 400w and forget about it. I don't think the heat from 1 250 vs. 400 would really make that much of a difference, your screwed either way ;) Since your system is plumbed down to the basement I would just throw 2 big fans on the sump portion. This way the humidity won't be so unbearable upstairs in the viewing room and you won't have any noise from fans. I know Brad did his old system like this and it worked out good for him.

Is that the starboard from my old 125? looks so clean.

Way to go against the grain and go bigger instead of going smaller like some other dill weeds I know ;)

Welcome to the 125 club! Is it in the spot where the old cichlid 125 was?? I don't think you need vhos unless you wanted them for dusk/down. Are the ushios 20k? Oh yea what's up with the hippie decal?

Jason was gonna call and see if you wanted to play aquarium but figured you were busy.

JJ, that is the starboard from your tank, i sold your old one for what i paid for it uncracked but i managed to get a free piece of starboard and some bulkheads out of the deal at least.

Lee, that is the old cichlid tank, the cichlids are going to ruggers house to live with his frontosas....as far as the hippie decal, ive had that sticker on there forever and didn't want to peel it off.

So looks like i'm gonna hook up another 400 watt mh and be done with it, i already have an extra ballast and was gonna order some lumenarc minis with mogules anyhow whats an extra 400 watts anyway?

;)

Well i gotta get to cleaning up this house, it looks like a fish tank exploded in here!!!
