What a day...

Wife comes downstairs this morning to make breakfast and she yells "I hear a strange sound". I come bounding down the stairs as she has descended into the basement to discover there is about 12 gallons of water missing from the fish tank. Chaos ensued trying to get stuff unplugged and towels found to soak up water. Ugh.

Purigen bag looks like it floated up and lodged itself in the output of my aquaclear slowing waterflow enough to where it was overflowing on the floor. Grr. Stuff happens we learn from our mistakes . Finnex heater power controller got water in it causing it to short out. Doesnt look fixable. Everything else equipment wise seems ok. Thought my mp10 was goofed up. Was giving me red flashing light but got that sorted. I think i freaked it out by power it on and off a few times. It works just fine.

Livestock all looks ok as nothing was above water at all. Stuff may be stressed a bit today since I am putting 12 gallons of water back, but should be ok.

Was planning on a water change today of 4 gallons but guess I am doing a larger one where i don't have to siphon water out first. HAHAHA.

And dang it I am still coming to the frag swap today so save me something good. HAHAHAHA

Always gotta look on the bright side. LOL

So looking for heater recommendations today at the salty dog. Since I need a new one. The cheap heater I have will work for the a couple days but I don't want to rely on it any more than I have to. The cheap heater is great for heating water change water but thats about all i trust it to do. LOL Really liked the Finnex I had in there as it had temp readout on the controller I could see and it worked very well.

Eheim Jager, hands down. I have one that is about 16 years old and has not been babied - pulled out while on, put into cold water from warm while still on, etc. It's now in my mixing vessel. I don't think the thermostat is totally accurate anymore, but that's OK.

Have fun at the swap!!
