What a Hitchhiker!

I'm lucky living less than an hour from TBS.

This is 1 of two Octos that made a suprise apearance in my tank. I managed to trap and remove the larger of the two a few weeks ago. He now resides with one of the employees of my LFS. Just when I thought it was safe to replace my cleaning crew, #2 showed up!! He's is so tiny, I think he might have even hatched in my tank. The second one is still too small to do any real damage other than eating 2-3 hemits per week.

The picture below is the larger one, the first that showed up. This pic was taken last month. His body was about the size of a small radish.

Looking forward to my next trip to TBS to purchase LR for my nano!!! Hold the Octos this time!!!

I would have kept him but after spending a lot of time on the Octo forum, I realized that it was more of an undertaking than I really wanted. He would need a big, BARE tank with maybe a few very agressive fish. I just didn't want to dedicate that much time, space and MONEY to one critter. His new owner has everything he needs already up and running.

I got $10 bucks for a searpent star and cuc at the LFS Sierra.

I gave both my Octo hitchhikers to the employees at my LFS. I was just happy to give them a good home. If there was a market for black spiney urchins, I'd be rich!! I pick 3-4 per week from my tank and they grow fast!!

my LFS offered half retail on anything i get that i dont want. he sells those common octos for $30, cuces for $6-7 each, so im looking forward to getting some new corals when i get my sacond half
