What about this camera

I'm looking at buying a new digital camera to take good macro shots of my tank and for everyday use. I was at the camera store and they have Nikon series of cameras on sale. I was looking at the Nikon Coolpix P4 8.1MP. What do you guys think?

Cheers

I ended up buying the Canon Powershot S3 IS. For a little more I could have purchased the D-50 with a basic lens. To upgrade the lens is where the money is at. This Canon S3 IS take pretty good pics. Here are a few. Mind you that I'm still not using the camera to its full potential.

Just bought a Casio Exilim 8.1mp.

Great compact, with lots of manual override for tank shots. Definately worth a look.

You made an EXCELLENT choice in camera. The Canon S3's predecessor (sp?), the S2, was rated very highly for "multi-tasking" photography. Great macros, awesome snapshots, and manual options. The S3 supposedly is carrying on this tradition of excellence. Just keep at it, you made a great choice of camera!

Thanks VoidRaven, the S3 has 6 megapixels instead of the 5 the S2 has. It has a great 12X zoom equivalent to a 420mm lens, and a great super macro, 0cm/0 in. macro. It has multiple automatic modes and can be fully manual such as a DSLR.

I spent about two hours last night trying to get close and crisp macro shots. I still can't replicate the quality crisp shots in macro mode that my friends get with the Nikon D70 and D200 as well as the Canon Rebel XT. I'm not sure if it's just me or the quality of the camera.

Thanks

Don't forget a tripod and to turn off the pumps when you are shooting. Helps a bit in capturing shots of corals and fish. Happy shooting!

I used a tripod on these photos but didn't turn the pumps off. I'll try with the pumps off thanks!
