What about this twist light?

I found a compact FL twist bulb from Lowes:

60 Watt 3000K for 5.00 or so. Anyone have some opinions on 3000K for sargassum, gracilaria & ulva?????

or how about halogen bulbs? I was also thinking of a 9 degree 75 watt halogen, 1100 lumens. Should be about 2' above sump.

Anyone? wrong wavelength for plants?

the K value is to low for main tank, if you are going to use it as refergum bulb i think it is ok

yeah I guess I should have clarified....it's the refugium.


Just curious how many reefers here have experimented with wavelength and different color algaes... in terms of growth.
