It is somewhat hard to connect acrylic to glass. Most people use silicone. The silicone will bind to the glass, but not to the acyclic, so you need to use enough that the acrylic is "held" into place rather than bound into place. As if the acrylic had been slid into a groove made from silicone.
Accordingly, the silicone will not keep the acrylic in place if there is any pressure on it from holding back water.
If you are just putting in baffles in a sump I would use silicon. It is my understanding that it is very hard to get acrylic and glass to stick together.
But like I said, if it is just for baffles then i would use acrylic as you it will not be holding that much pressure and it would not be critical if there was a leak.
