What adhesive to glue acrylic to plywood???

Oh my!!! There's so many pos and neg reviews about each method. I don't know what to do.

I'm not going to paint it myself for several reasons, but how much do you all think it would cost me to outsource? My only concern (besides cost) with outsourcing to an auto body guy is the fact that this is made out of wood. These guys are used to painting metal which does not absorb like wood. I heard that bondo shrinks in time when applied to wood causing defects in the painted surface.

The acrylic I plan on using is 1/8" thick and costing $50 per 4x8 sheet. To me this sounds cheap but some of you are talking about waviness. Isn't this thicker than laminate and Formica like some of you are concerned with?

I like Bean's suggestion, however if it were me, and I were thick headed refusing to go in another direction, I would simply screw it to the stand. Pre-drill every hole in the acrylic, use black screws, and hand tighten each one (screw gun/drill will most likely crack the acrylic by over tightening).

From experience don't use a cyanoacrylate type superglue gel.. it makes the acrylic turn white. It sticks fine, but looks bad, and you can see it through the acrylic.
