What am I dealing with? Ahhhhh

I've been trying to get rid of this algae for a month now. I've tried water changes, passive phosphate bags, carbon and 3 days no light. Nothing has even put a dent into it. What should I do now?

Also no detectable phosphates or nitrates.

This looks like cyano to me. If you vacuum does it come up in sheets? Does it "retract" overnight?

I'd argue that if you don't have measurable phosphate or nitrate this stuff is using it all up. How much do you feed?

It does seem like sheets. I feed twice a day with flake food with an auto feeder.

Increasing the amount of flow in the tank might help.

I'd start by lowering lights a little bit, vacuuming sand, lightening the feed load, and increasing flow a bit.

Thats not cyano it looks like dinoflagellates for sure check out the algae thread on it.

How old is the tank. Does it look hairy like? To me, almost looks like diatoms.

I would do exactly what new lights said. Def lower your feeding with mote often water changes and run phosban.
