6 weeks cyceled tank...., CUC was doing well until a hermit crab ate two turbo snails last week...

today this appeared.. what is it. it looks like a the legs of a snail or crab sticking out of skeletal remains, but honestly i have no idea.

i see no empty shells anywhere..

It's most likely a molt. Your hermit crab will do this every now & then.

When you have crabs eating snails, be a little suspicious and test your water quality. Dying snails are prey. although with pointy snails, frequently they're just incapable of crossing sand without falling over and starving to death.
