What might I be and am I harmful to a reef tank? I'm green and about 1/2" with a snout. This is a normal shot glass just for size reference. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Is the body soft or hard. I don't know what it is, but it looks like it has a shell, but then at the same time it looks like it's soft. Good luck with your search. I'll be watching this thread.
Its soft with no shell. It looks like a snail or slug like but Im not certain what it can be. There seems to be some sort of soft nubs/tenticles all over its back. Still no luck in my research. Silly snail
It appears to be a sea hare but the image isn't good enough to tell. If you put it into a wide dish with only an inch or so of water you should get a much better image, giving us a better chance at id'ing it.
Guess I will have to catch this little guy again and get better pictures I put him in the refugium. Sea slug... Do all sea slugs have two pairs of tentacles? This guy has normal tentacles like a snail but also has a single long snout. I will work on getting another pic or two. I do appreciate everyone input and effort in helping me id this little guy.
venwu225- interesting... I will pull him out tomorrow and see. I never touched him to confirm he has a shell, just picked him up with tongs. From what I have read cowry have a mantle that covers their shell. Which is interesting because if you look close to the pic you can see a slot in the body that runs length way. Pics soon
Most likely a seahare.. but also chance could be a seaslug that I know has developed a soft mantle like a cowrie... I just read about them a couple of days ago.
