I bought this piece for the dendrophyllia from a LFS. The green one just happened to be a bonus but the LFS didn't know what it was. It's about the size of a quarter, very bright, and glows under the moonlights. TIA:rollface:

It looks like it may be a Nuclear green Paly but the purple skirt is confusing me. Try posting this in the Zoanthid forum.

dont know if there is a "real name" for it since there are hundreds of different ones that are very very similar...but it is some sort of paly that is green

I don't think this is a zoa or paly. The stucture of the skirt is wrong. I think its a small rock or flower anemone. See how in the skirt every couple of tenticals there is one that is higher up in the body. Kinda creates a uneven or jagged looking skirt. That's the give away here.

Here's a pic.

Check at the pic of a young one on mel's reef. There are more pics of adults on that site too.

These guys stay small getting about 4 - 5" max and come in a variety of color combos. From the ones I've seen green and purple seem to be verry common colors.

Yeah, I think it's some sort of flower anemone, too, just small right now. The distinct double skirt is interesting (very zoa-ish).

while i'm not positive it is (or isnt) that anemone thing, zoas and paly's can still have skirts like that. A long long time ago in the arizona club forum on here, AZTBS posted pictures of a couple of her zoas which had that happen to them. Every other skirt-spike thingy was at a different angle just like that one in the pic. I myself have button polyps that are like this too.

Don't know if this will help or not but here's a shot from a side angle
