If you wanted to do tunze streams or something like that, in theory it might be possible to make some sort of box out of plastic eggcrating to put them in.... I dunno, just an idea for more flow...

there is a DIY wavebox using MAXI MODS but i cant reccomend it as ive never seen one

The wavebox's will most likely be made out of maximods, as i dont want to spend 400$ on a wavebox and i can have my acrylic guy make them and i already have the modded maxi's.

I bet the skimmer would work for a spawn if you make sure the overflow doesn't go back into the tank when you suddenly skim 20 gallons

Getting a male and female (if you can find them) might not be helpful since it is theorised that the sperm would be way too concentrated if they were in the tank together and you would be looking for something more like a 1/4 cup of the male's tank water into the female's tank to prevent double fertilization of each egg. (this is from conversations with R. Shimek)

so totall cost for 1 modded maxi wave box is like 50 bucks, as apposed to 400+ for a WB

I think it would apply the same for any large anemone. I still don't think it is known if magnificas are internal or external brooders.

I also have not found an account of a female magnifica spawning in captivity for what it's worth.

The two genetic strains I have (one mother anemone has been tanked for 8 years the other for over 1 year) have never spawned, so sex is all still theory over here. We have gone from two anemones to 5 which is a step in the right direction.

Chopping them up is looking promising

Cool, double fertilization might give you triploid mags!! Those should get, hmm, twice as big as a normal mag, like the polyploid strawberries?
Yeah, think you might need a bigger tank...

makes waves!

supposed to stimulate a more natural wave-like water flow in your tank. they are pretty cool, but, imo, too expensive when random, turbulent flow can be create with a CL manifold or phead streams running into eachother, however, if you have the money...
