I would add another 65 watt fixture just for more life. Once you get that, I would get the largest BTA you can find. Although, many will say on here that you will need to upgrade to a bigger tank. And so am I. Don't plan on keeping an anemone long term in a tank this size. Just my 02.

Good to hear. Just make sure you upgrade the lighting. But definately start with a BTA. They are more forgiving than other anemones. A condy anemone is also a good anemone to start with. Thats what I started with.
the LFS, has a couple of bta, a purple LTA, and some regular LT's. I kind of dig the rose LTA, and RBTA's. WHat do you think i should go with. I had a GBTA, and it croaked on me, i think due to me messing with it, because it went and hid under rock, so i kept moving it. So i think i induced it's death.

The BTA's require more light than your condy, probably why it croaked. I upgraded to MH (300 dollars later)...ouch. I also have a maroon clown. They will host BTA's more frequently than LTA I have heard. I think I have a Magnifica...maybe? Green stubby tentecles getting longer on the outside? Purple mouth and a cream foot. Been with me for over a year and half and so hasn't the stupid maroon who killed many more fish than he's worth, but I still love him (actually her)

Entacmaea quadricolor is the preferred host of Premnas biaculeatus and would, therefore, be the best option for this instance (for several reasons stated above).

basically because with only 29 gallons you don't have the water stability an anemone needs. With a tank that small water will vary up and down too much unless your very very strict about your water quality and parameters. Others may get into it more but thats the basic reason.

Anemones are among the most simplistic creatures but yet most demanding that us hobbyists keep. What can the ocean provide that a 29 gallon can't? Well...stability. You can have the perfect lighting, perfect water conditions and the right amount of flow, but with water conditions shifting at a faster rate, its hard to keep an anemone long term like this. Yes there are those that have had an anemone successfully kept in 20-30 gallon tanks for a couple of years, but I have yet to hear any reports or experiences of people keeping anemones longterm in these type of conditions.
Not only does stablilty play a role but the tank size itself is a limiting factor. The chances of an anemone getting caught up in intake or a powerhead is significantly greater than an anemone being kept in a 55 gallon. Just that extra 30 gallons more can make a big difference.
Not to mention your limiting yourself when you keep an anemone in a 29 gallon. What corals can survive the detrimental stings of anemones? Anemones will eventually kill everything off or close to it.
The major reason is stability. All it takes is one slip up in a 29 gallon and its over. You have a fish die on you or mess up the salinity, that can dramatically change the water chemistry, either severely hurting the anemone or killing it.
Its your choice...but we should all make the right choice. Keep your anemones in that most optimal enviroment, not the bare minimum.
