What are peoples experiences w Regal Angels in a reef w zoas and lps and sps

Wondering what are peoples experiences with Regal angels in sps reefs with zoas,clams and lps. It would be well fed if that helps. Is it a good idea or bad??

mine loves to sample different lps, especially australians'

Sample= taste and move on and coral bounces back or will he keep on sampling the same corals until they suffer and die. Also which Aussies? acans....

My experience is that my Regal wiped out my Zoanthids. It nips rarely at SPS and causes no damage. Fleshy LPS such as open brains, Acans and Lobophylia, etc are very tempting to most angels and can be harassed to death so I am not able to keep these. It leaves my Frogspawn and Goniopora alone. My Regal ignores my healthy clams but has targeted clams in decline. They have a strong sense when a coral or clam is not healthy and they will pounce. Keeping your corals in top condition with great water quality and parameters, lighting, etc. helps a ton. IME the Regal is one of the best angels for a mixed reef and they are almost completely harmless in a predominantly SPS reef.

Regals can wake up one day with enlightenment: corals taste good. It may be a model citizen until then, but all of a sudden . . .

My regal is not nipping lps in destructive manner, FOR NOW. Still enough to make corals suffer. I've already taken out the scooly and acan till able to get the fish out.

So basically its a bad idea for me to add the regal that I have in qt as I have a collection of beautiful acans and zoas in my sps reef and have several clams too. Also planning on adding a few euphyillia species. Better sell him, I got him from a dealer when when he was in decline for 40$. I will turn a profit on reviving him.
