What are signs or sps recovery?

So I am on my 3 round of sps frag purchases.... Other than my green birdsnest (which has grown to the size of a tennis ball) the first few either died or did poorly. Batch number 2 I struggled with alk issues and 3 of them RTN'd... 4 look great but have slow growth... The last batch is in the tank now....

Some of batch two are still brown or bleached but are showing flourecent green around the base or tips.... The overall color so terrible but I think this is a good sign? My reef ready grape juice is still brown but is now green around the base... My palmers blue milli turned l is white but now green on the base and tips...

This turn around has taken two months....

New growth will have vibrant color. You want to look for color, polyp extension, and new growth. Frags in poor health will bleach, brown out, and/or retract their polyps. Maintaining healthy parameters can reverse these things.

I would also take some macro shots and enlarge them to rule out pests being the birdsnest did well while the others didn't.

well I was planning on some macro shots this weekend... I had two acros that stopped PE and died. One was iritated by virmatid snals. Now I clip those darn things weekly... The other stressed after my tank hit 86 for a week while I was away. came home and he would not open up. All the others have great PE... Other than the florecent green around the base, I dont see much else. a few others have great PE and great color and are growing... slow but growing.... Just those 3 from the 2nd batch I bought still have poor color. They browned and lost color and are taking their sweet time recovering.

Nitrates and Phosphates are zero. alk is 7.3 dkh (anything over 8 and I get RTN) My calcium has been around 500. I keep backing off the doser. I was at 12ml per day and I am down to 4 ml per day.... Darrn calcium wont go down. Water changes make it higher...

I am suspecting my test kit but I have two different kits with the same readings...

dosing Pohls CV, XTRA, AA and Iron, plus brightwell Potassium

I would stop dosing all the additives until all your
Parameters are Stable, are you testing for the potassium level before your dosing it?.

Other than my high calc my parameters are quite stable. The calc is stable too just high. It has been that high for months.... My potassium is stable at the low unreadable end... The kit does not turn blue.... The corels are responding well to the potassium dosing...

Well about 6 months after I got some of these frags they are coloring back up....I am getting some slow growth and encrusting on most.... The bright green seems to preceded recovery
