What are the leading point and shoot cameras out there? Looking for image quality.

I'm looking to get a really nice point and shoot camera. I don't care if it has video mode. My main concern is image quality. I just sold my Nikon D-50 because it was too bulky of a camera for what I wanted.

The Canon G7 is nice. It's the upper range for P&S in quality and price, but you don't have some of the same hassles that you might have with a DSLR.

Several good options out there. What kind of price range? What size would you prefer? (the S3 IS and S9100 are larger P&S cameras that have some manual capabilities available if you want that ability).

PowerShot A640 or G7? Both very nice camera's but I know I would never throw a speedlight on whatever I get so maybe the A640. I need to compare the two.

I looked at the G7 when I went shopping and read alot of reviews on the two and decided that the A640 was better bang for the buck and just felt better.

lol.. I was wondering if somebody would get me for that.

I was refering to the need for additional flashes, lenses and filters. Also the larger bulkier size of DSLR's.

I suppose it all stops there.

I'm pretty sure people like B&H, Henry's and other camera chain's will buy your used camera. This doesn't guarantee you the best price however.
