what are the side effects or harms that formalin dips can do to fish??

I bought several anthias and in 1 qt tank I experienced Uronema and just one anthia survived and I am treating that one with the extended formalin protocol were you need to do about 7 formalin dips at 200ppm

in my other qt tank I have replendent anthias, they did not show any sign but to be sure I have done 3 formalin dips at the end of each TTM

IMO, if done properly should have no ill effects.

it's a known carcinogen, so.. your fish could get cancer...

could also become more sensitive to it, and would require lower dosages if treatment was needed again or it could be fatal... but who knows if that did/could happen for sure?
