ok , thanks, how much would most people sell like a 10 polyp frag for?

IMO eagle eyes are pretty common now. but depends on where you live.

you should keep the colony and not frag it up. they arent worth that much anyways IMO.

10 polyps around $10. They are very common and grow fast.

Dont be a chop shop though! let the colony settle.

I agree. They need to color up. I would wait a week or more before cutting it up.

Nice find though!!!

i just made one 7 polyp frag so far, the day that i took the pic was the only day theve been really open, from then on there have been like 5-10 polyps open but none of the others are open, any idea whats goin on?

I don't see the difference between wam'n watermelons and eagle eyes on zoaid. They look the same to me. Does anyone know the difference?

Why would you make a frag if they are unhealthy and not opening? Unless you know why they are not open you should have not done that! that will just further stress the colony out!

You have no idea why the colony is closed up? could be nudi's, pyrimid snails, fungus, or a number of other things. If you were to sell that frag to someone you would most likley infect their tank too!

There's a really good thread on making dip atm in this forum, if you need to know how to make it. Maybe it would help them start to recover?
:)

BTW, Jovreefer, I think he said earlier that at the time they were fine, it was after he made the frag that they closed.

he also said he just got them, and fragging recently acquired specimens does not allow time for settlement, thus leading to stress and closed polyps that may not survive.

to clairyfy, i made a small frag of part of the colony where the matt was hanging off the rock and already ripping (same day i bought it), and the colony opend right back up AFTER i made the frag... ill take a look at the dip thread, but i have bought tons of corals from the place i got this one and i have NEVER had a problem with any of them

but when you cut a recently introduced frag you expose it to all the things in your tank it wasn't used too, stressing it. it will take a bit of time for the stress to show in the lack of pe.
