They kind of look like RB. I would dip that nana in lugo's and see if any AEFW's come off. RB's don't usually cause stn from the base.

grrrrr
well i have some lugols solution, how many drops per gallong of what type of water.

i didnt think they looked like RB since there is really no yellow in them.
Tim

I would use about 20 drops per cup of tank water and leave the acro in for about 15 minutes. make sure you shake the acro in the water right before you put it back in to get anything still hanging on. Your acro will be stressed for a few days after the treatment.

man, thats a lot of drops since this acro is bigger than softball size. what is show in the pics with the stn is about 1/8 of the acro. its a good 6" tall

ok well i will give it a shot. i dont wanna treat with interceptor since i am only seeing bad things on this acro and none else, and i have some shrimp that have been with me for a few years that i dont wanna loose

Tim

ok well goind to dip, will post pics of what falls off

nope nothing on the bottom of the water, well other than some frags that i didnt plan on making. hard to swish the coral on a one gallon jug. well some ofthe buggers are still there, didnt seem to be as red or as moving but that can all change when i take it back out on sunday to look at it. nice slime coat though from the nana

Tim

well i will have wo wait a week or so till i try anymore treatments. dont wanna stess the colony out to much. no polyps out at all now, really ****ed it off this time. not as bad as when i freshwater, hypo, hyper salinity dipped it. so only time will tell

thanks for the help though

Tim

How about just an interceptor dip for now. Didnt stress out my new ones. I kept them in a pump circulated bucket for 6 hours. THey came out looking the same as they went in.

i will contemplate other methods in a few weeks. coral is really stressed right now so it will need some time to recover. the upside is that although none of the red things fell off they havent moved from there spot since the dip, so i am assunming that they are dead and just havent fallen off yet.

Tim

Put it under a microscope/magnifying glass and I think that you will unfortunately see a planaria shaped organism.

I think that there are two types of AEFW's and I think that this is one of them.

so can they spread from acro to acro, and if it is AEFW then what is the safest treatment. flatworm exit or does it have to be interceptor . also the things havent moved in a few days now

Tim

tim,
ime best way to kill aewf is pro-cure by tropic marine. i think u should get a botlle anddip this acto for 15 min.
hate to say ,but when my nana had this problem, i found aefw . plus look for eggs right under the base.
