In our tank we have something growing in the filter, on the live rock and on the glass. It looks like the tip of a cotton swab. Any ideas what they might be? Are they harmful and will they hurt my corals or fish? They're too small to get a clear picture of them.
They are probably Scypha sponges, also called Pineapple Sponges. You should be able to search the net for lots of comparison photos, and see if that's what they look like.
