What are they???

Quick question. Anyone know what the little bug/insect that are white that seem to hang out on the glass??? I remember them from my old 55g and am now seeing them on my 2.5g. Are they good, bad, or i don't ***** know??? I would assume they are just normal animals of a maturing tank.........

Sounds like copepods. Small white crustaceans. They are one of the most important food sources in the oceans. Most fish that live at extreme depths and those that set plankton traps like jellyfish depend on them for survival. Or in other words, they are guuuud.

Pods or mysis shrimp. A good sign of a healthy tank. Nothing to worry about.

When you say ''hang out on the glass'' does it have a specific shape, like a tiny star?

are they moble? if so they are probably copepods, if they are not, and look like they have tentacles, they are probably hydroid jellyfish.
