What are your methods of caring for hammer corals?

I am thinking of purchasing a good size frag of one and I would like to know how you reefers care for them

low to medium lighting slow water movement and really all I do for feeding is what it collects when I feed my fish I have one that when I got it was bleached and I have brought it back so hope this helps.

I have a frogspawn high and in low flow and a gold hammer on the bottom and in low flow.

Both are doing awesome.

Medium flow, medium light...bought a small frag several months ago and it's been pretty easy, growing like crazy...

Medium light, medium flow and feed them. I like to feed mine rice. It's binding for their poop because it's in the BRA diet. Bananas and apples work too. Don't get them wet though! Kidding about the food, but you should feed them.

I feed mine a nice meaty food. Usually a couple pieces of mysis get to it when I feed my tank and they love it. You can also spot feed them something along those lines too. I spot feed them once a week too along with all my other corals. They grow faster that way.

High in the tank under 14 k ushios with good flow but not directly on it. Softball size upon purchase 3 years go now bigger than a basketball, and that's after breaking off half. I now have 2 softball sized pieces in my smaller tank from it and 2 volleyball sized pieces on each end of my 125 where the main piece is.

If it eats it's getting it wen I feed the tank, I never spot feed it.

Seems to grow extremely fast with higher levels of alk, and it seems to be the main user of it in my small tank, since I didn't have to dose before adding the 2 pieces to it.


Its a braching hammer.

Here is a top down of the main piece from a year ago in my 125, picture doesn't do it justice but it's the best I got on this computer, at the bottom of the picture is my large frogspawn and large toadstool. Out of the frogspawn, hammer and the torch I have, the hammer smokes them all as far as growth rate:
