I was telling my grandpa about Dragonnets couple weeks ago and jokingly said I'd love that type of fish in my tank.

Today, My grandpa came home with two scooter blennies cause he said he was tired of seeing my tank fishless. Welp my Original plan to get my dream fish the Mandarin is a no go :/

Told him but Why he get me two and he said he saw the two together and didn't want to separate them.
I don't want to break his heart about it since he was so excited for it. Gotta think of an excuse :(

Is there anyone I could trade with or want to buy a scooter blenny ($10)? Idk what else to do since it's no returns at store. I know won't be able to support two Dragonnets since I heard all Dragonnets eat pods.

Help :(

Well some dragonet will eat frozen cyclopes and I have two scooters in my tank with a dragon face pipe fish I do add pods every couple months just to make sure they are getting replenished . My tank is a 60 gal with about 90 lbs of live rock and has bin up and running about a year. I don't know if this helps but you can always a live pods if that is your concern. But would try and get them all to eat the frozen 👍

If your tank is well-established enough, it should be okay. And if you've got enough rock, as rmrjwieger said, the pods will live and reproduce in there so that your fish can feast on them until you can get them weaned onto frozen

I'm just afraid having two would decimate the population and starve them. My tank is a 20gallon long. So it's pretty small for them imo

It just depends on how often you want to buy pods to keep them fed.
For a single Mandarin fish I don't mind. I was just Concerned with raising two in such a small tank. Right now I'm considering lying to my grandpa and say they died and just relocate the two scooters somehow.

Most stores will take fish and or corals in on store credit that can be used for purchase in the store might want to look into that .
