What boards will be replaced?

I'm looking at buying a Profilux Plus 2 but some power surge messed up the Temp Control. I was wondering if I could just use my Ranco until the P3 upgrade came out and just use that instead of paying the $150 to fix the problem. Will this work?

the P3 upgrade kit will come with a new front board, a piggy-back board for the PAB and a special expansion card (USB/LAN)
the original rear board will remain

this means: if you are lucky then the front board of your ProfiLux II has been damaged, if not the upgrade kit will not fix the temp. problem

Can the Readox port be used as a second PH probe port?
