I used CaribSea ARM for 4 years in my calcium reactor. The cost + shipping was getting a bit $$$, so I switched to crushed coral. The crushed coral contains quire a few snail shells, which I've been told can add phosphates to my tank. I made this switch about 2 years ago, and am wondering if that was wise. I seem to be having nuisance algae problems recently, and although my Merc phosphate test kit says my phosphates are low (0 - .008), I wonder if this could be a contributing factor.
What media are you using in your reactor???
Thanks for your input. I appreciate it!!!
