What camera is worth the money?

Do all the newer digital camera take batteries? Do they not have the rechargable ones? My old one had a battery that would last forever. On my Sony I have now, I go through AA batteries all the time. I bought the best rechargable AA I cold find and it eats those up too.

You will have to let me know how you like it. That is the one I am leaning twords too.

Send me over some pictures you takw on the auto mode :). I am sure that is the one I will use all the time.

The panasonic has a lithium recharge pack. The canon uses 4 AA and the sony only get 33 pictures before you have to switch ts 2 AAs.

Where did you end up ordering it from?

I'm really leaning towards the Canon Rebel XT (350) now that the XTI is out I'm hoping it will start to drop some more. I found a place with the camera and the kit 18-55 lens for $569 refurbished but not sure if I want to buy it refurbished. The only reason I'm leaning that way is because it still comes with a full warrenty

It takes great pictures of my daughter. Tank shots are a little tuff yet. If I had the money I would probably go with the Rebel or a similar SLR if tank shot were a major priority.

I think the only real solution to get what I want is to buy 2 cameras. One just for tank pictures like the Rebel and then buy a small one for the pocket to get good everyday pictures(without having to haul around a big camera). I want the best of both worlds in a camera.....small size that takes both great everyday photos and fits in my pocket and one that takes great aquarium photos.

That probably will not happen :(

Yeah, the canon S3 won't fit in your pocket... The zone is very good and I am getting better tank shots as of last night. I will see if I can get some small enough to post.
