What Can I Add?

Wondering what might be a good sized reef safe fish for a 135 gal. Current residents are pair of Tom Clowns, Lawnmower Blenny, Cleaner Wrasse, snails, hermits, and feather dusters. Also have softies and 2 bta. I was thinking of tangs but most get huge or mean. Just seeing what else gets some size and is reef safe. Thanks for the help.

How about a school of blue green chromis (there can be some aggression with most damsels).

I also like my chalk bass.

If you want something that will get larger, think about a Lamarks Angle. They are one of the few reef safe angles and mine has a great personality.

I wouldn't worry about big tangs being aggressive, a yellow would add a splash of color.

The two I was thinking of was either the Powder Blue or Powder Brown. Powder Blues have a reputation and I've had a Powder Brown that was pretty nasty till he went up against the wrong fish and died.

As far as the yellows, you can only do one in a tank unless its a HUGE tank if I'm not mistaken.

The opinion of the masses varies for Tang's tank size. Most will agree Yellow's and Pwd Blue are 100+ while some will even say a 55 ( I am not in this camp!).

It is also a factor off how much swim room they have. At full size with the aquascape, can they still swim freely? How is your water quality / tank maturity?

For your 135 gallon the Yellow and Pwd Blue tangs should be a go.

What are the dimensions of your tank though? Longer tanks seem to make happier tangs.

Its like a 125 just a little taller. 6ft long and the aquascape is very minimal. Its pretty empty except the middle of the tank has about 60lbs LR with softies. So I would say LOTS of swimming room. Also wouldn't a Pwd Blue woop on a Yellow Tang?

I would add a PBT if you want to. It shouldn't be a problem at all in your tank. They are definitely very assertive though. He might end up the king of the tank.
