Tank is a 42 hex with 150W DE 10k and 150W VHO actinic (lights are about 6" off of the the water). Mostly LPS with two RBTAs. I have a shallow (2-3") sand bed. I would like to keep either a crocea or a maxima and I could get them within 6-8" of the water's surface directly under the halide. Parameters are as follows:

Ca is 420-430
Alk is 3.90 meq/l
SG is 1.026
Temp is 79-82
NO2 is 0
NO3 is 0
PH is 8.0-8.2
PO4 is 0

Using salifert test kits.

Lighting cycle is currently:
Actinic 12:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Halide 1:00 pm - 10:00pm

Also running an ER skimmer.

Tank has been up and running (in some form) for almost three years.

Fish to include one pair of GSM clownfish and a coral beauty.

you would be able to have a Crocea or Maxima if you put it up in the rocks, but Coral Beauty's are nippers and most likely will pester the clam to death

each fish is different so i can say,if you have another tank to put the fish in then i would say give it a try but if you see her nip once most of the time they wont stop and will stress the clam way out.
