Hi
The tank is 15 months old, no problems running like a dream. I have a crushed coral substrate (1") that I vacuum every water change and about 30kg live rock. I have just bought a quarantine tank and wanted to 'seed' the filter in it so I washed some crushed coral that I had spare from the original setup (stored in it's bag) in tap water (about 2 cup fulls) and put it in a net bag and then the tank for a week, so far so good.
After a couple of days the bag was covered in red flat worms/pods/snails and about 4 small brittle stars, my question is, what is the attraction in the new bag of sand.
BTW I have never seen any red flat worms in the tank.
