what caused this....

Fairly new tank set up july 5. FOWLR

As with new tanks Cyno has been on my sand the whole time.

Up till this week numbers were
PH 7.8 day night morning afternoon always 7.8
amm 0 nitrite 0 trate 10-20

I added 6 Nass snails this weekend.

My cyno is gone. 100% within three days.
My ph always having been low is now 8.2

Did the nass cause the cyno to go away or was it just its time?

what caused the ph change? I have made no other changes than adding the snails. Dont get me wrong I am glad it is now where it should of been all along

The PH change is probably the reason the cyano disappeared.
Have you opened any windows/doors?It's getting nice out now.
That will raise the PH also.

Nope .. No windows or doors.. We like AC asthma and allergies in the country dont make for good open windows.

Although I had tried it one day a few weeks ago when the counts were low with the window next to the tank. No luck then.
