What causes a single Blasto W polyp to recede?

I have 2 Blasto W colonies. On each one 1 of the polyps has receded and is almost gone. All of the other 7 or so polyps look fine. What would cause this?

Jasper24, check your light. My blasto doesn't like a strong light.

jasper the question you asked doesnt really have an answer. not yet at least. blastos have been mysteriously receding for no particular reason since they were introduced to this hobby. the best advice i can give is move it to a low flow and low light area to minimize stress. also regular feedings of meaty treats will help it to recover.
strong lights and blastos are a common misconception. i have several colonys right out in the open directly under 250w mh's and they do great. but like any other coral it must be done very slowly. if its just thrown out in the open under strong light right from the get go, it will probably bleach and die.
