What centropyge should I get?

I have decided that I'm going to set up a frag tank. The dmensions of the frag tank will be 25x25x14 which equals about 35 gallons. I'm going to house one fish in the tank and I have decided I want it to be a centropyge. I don't want any old boring angel, though. I want it to be a species that you don't see everyday. Please give your suggestions on what rare centropyge I should get.

Let me get this straight, you want to put a rare centropyge in a 35 gallon frag tank knowing that it will most likely nip on the corals?

35 gallons is a bit small IMO, but if you are going to do it, set up a colder tank and throw in a interupta.

i have tried those flameback angels from africa in a 20g, they can get quite aggressive though. but a nice looking little fish

Kind of a very interesting topic..

Anyhow, I would recommend never keeping a Centropyge species without liverock. Which, presumably you will not have any. The rarer Centropyge almost always get large. Well, too large for a 35 gallon.

Some of the ones you don't see everyday, that will stay small enough;

C. resplendens (Smallest Centropyge, IIRC)
C. fisheri
C. flavicauda
C. colini
C. multicolor
C. acanthops
C. aurantonotus

Alright I can make it larger...what dimensions would you guys recommend? Also, I will put some live rock in there. Basically I really want to keep a nice centropyge but my 75 gallon reef is fully stocked right now so I decided I would setup a tank dedicated to keeping one and I thought I may as well make it a frag tank but it doesn't have to be if it nips too much. Does that sound better?

I heard that C. hotumatua will be available next year :D

They're definitely not the biggest centropyge either!

Wow beautiful. Thank you for the recommendation. Do you guys think the dimensions 30x30x12 would work well? It would be 50 gallons with a 20-30 gallon sump.

That size would work, I would think 48 x 30 would be perfect though.

These fish are also cooler water... not sure how cool though. The colini's though pop up time to time, just subscribe to the LA diver's den updates, I know michael_cb has a thread on one he picked up.
