What clam in 45gal?

Possible to keep any clams in a 45gal or will they all outgrow it?

My tank is 24x24x18... I was thinking a maxima in the center of the tank on the sandbed, is this a possibility?

Crocea clams seem to be more demanding, then maximas - both of these will do fine in a 45 gallon and lighting is the big issue as indicated above. Deresa and squamosa clams can grow larger and are not as demanding. Be careful about getting real small clams -1-2 in - they often are much cheaper but have a lower survival rate. Also, remember that you will need to feed phytoplankton. Good luck

Thanks phoenix :) I was actually thinking about having a nice blue maxima as my "centerpiece"... Since I'm doing a cube I was thinking about doing a kind of semi-circle aquascape with the clam in the center of the rockwork..

I'm going to be using a giesemann 250w MH pendant so I'm guessing there should be enough light to get all the way to the sand bed.. I'm hoping if I set up my flow right that the clam would not want to move from where I originally set it as it would be part of my aquascaping..
